This album is based on my experiences as a private pilot. I thought it would be a great idea to write an album on this. A couple of years after Ambiance I needed a theme for a new album and I thought this is it. Creating this album was especially hard cause I thought I had to do something different from Ambiance. It must be better, more advanced etc etc.. I then ignored my subconscious and went for it. I had lots of fun on this album although I almost gave up finishing it.
Get Fundamentals Of Flying from CDBABY
| Engine Start After the preflight checks are done you get in the plane and for me this was the moment of truth. I always used to think, just before I turn the key, did I check everything.
| Holding Point 29 This is one of the holding points at the airport I used to fly at. There was something about this runway that kept pilots talking late at night. Whenever you approached this runway, just before touchdown, the aircraft used to shake a bit, like turbulance. But there used to bo no wind or anything. It just shaked a bit.
| Takeoff This is for me one of the most exciting parts of flying. I've done this lots of times, but everytime my heart beats fast. It's great.
| Hercules One of the workhorses of the SANDF. |
| Cruise Get the power right, set the trim, check temperatures and sensors and cruise. |
| Autopilot I always flew without an autopilot but some pilots have told some pretty interesting stories about it. |
| Grippen The new fighter jet of the SANDF. This will eventually replace the cheetah. |
| Flying Falling Floating When you fly it feels like flying falling floating.
| Descent I actually got the idea for this sonf from the game, Descent. This was the first game I played that used all the axis, x,y and z.
| Mirage The fighter thats going to be replaced by the Grippen. When this thing turns it burns.
| Final Approach The approach was always exciting. You are busy in that cockpit. Checking stuff, lowering flaps, talking to the atc and flying, well most of the times.
| Taxi To Parking After the flight I used to open the little sidewindow on the 172 and just enjoy th cool air. |
